1. Mama’s Fish House- Paia, North Shore

If you are in the mood to splurge or are celebrating a special occasion, be sure to visit one of the most iconic restaurants in the state of Hawaii. Many come for the ocean views and delicious fish brought straight to the restaurant from the fishermen. Mama’s Fish House is located just past Paia town on the beautiful North Shore of Maui. Be sure to make reservations in advance to avoid missing out on this wonderful experience. Mama's Fish House is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

2. Merriman’s- Kapalua, West Side

This renowned oceanfront restaurant features farm-to-table cuisine in an elegant setting with views. Merriman’s supports local farmers, ranchers, and the local economy while offering fresh, authentic regional cuisine at its peak flavor. Each day, Merriman’s Restaurants strive to “Do The Right Thing!” for the earth, for each other, and for their guests. Their daily happy hour is from 3 to 5 p.m. with live music on the Point Lounge. Merriman's serves dinner nightly from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. They also serve Sunday brunch on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

3. Haliimaile General Store- Makawao, Upcountry

Hali‘imaile General Store is Chef Bev Gannon’s original and most acclaimed restaurant featuring eclectic American food with Asian overtones which is the essence of modern Hawaiian food. Founded in 1988, “The Store” has been a Maui destination for both visitors and locals that appreciate the fresh local ingredients in our island-inspired menus for many years. Lunch is offered Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dinner is offered nightly from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

4. Fleetwood’s on Front Street- Lahaina, West Side

Michael John Kells Fleetwood, known as Mick Fleetwood (born 24 June 1947) is a British musician and actor, best known for his role as the drummer and co-founder of the rock band Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood, whose surname was merged with that of John McVie to form the name of the band, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Featuring plenty of options from the land and sea, your bellies will surely be satisfied by the end of the night. Whether you are just there for a legendary cocktail and sunset view or spending the evening for dinner, Fleetwood’s will have you enjoying the music and surroundings above Front Street in the heart of Lahaina town.

Fleetwood's is open daily at 2:00 p.m. with happy hour and $1 Oyster Hour from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Dinner is served daily from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Sunset Ceremony is held daily on the Rooftop at 5:45 p.m. Also, Fleetwood's General Store Maui is open from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day.

5. Da Kitchen Cafe- Kahului, Central; Da Kitchen Express- Kihei, South Side

Da Kitchen Cafe serves island style food made with Aloha. You may recognize this place from their appearance on the show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on The Food Network. Da Kitchen was established in 1998 with the first location in Kihei on the Island of Maui. The owners founded the restaurant based on a desire to bring good local food, big portions with reasonable prices to Maui. Da Kitchen has become famous for its creative diverse cuisine with an emphasis on traditional Hawaiian food. The menu incorporates both traditional classic Local and Hawaiian favorites, which is inspired by the different ethnic groups established in the islands of Hawaii.

The Kahului location is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Kihei location is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. They serve breakfast from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. After that, lunch and dinner are served from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

6. Casanova’s Italian- Makawao, Upcountry

Casanova Italian Restaurant and Deli has been serving the Maui community since 1986. A reputation for fine Italian cuisine, family-friendly service, affordable prices and warm hospitality makes this award-winning restaurant, café, deli, and pizzeria a popular destination among Maui’s locals and visitors alike. They serve lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This means that, unfortunately, they are closed for lunch on Wednesdays and Sundays. They are also open seven days per week for dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

7. Monkeypod by Merriman

The Wailea location on the island's South Side is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. They host two Happy Hours every day from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Kaanapali location on the West Side is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. They also host two Happy Hours every day from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

8. Sansei Sushi

Contemporary sushi and new wave Asian-inspired dishes served in a lively setting are what make Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar one of Hawai’i’s most critically acclaimed and wildly popular restaurants. Sansei’s sushi chefs are known for their highly imaginative creations, like their signature Panko Crusted Ahi Roll. Another is the famous Kapalua Butterfly Roll, which is a colorful delight of salmon, crab, shiromi, and fresh vegetables.

9. Flatbread Pizza Co.- Paia, North Shore

Flatbread Pizza Company is famous for their wood-fired pizzas with organic ingredients and free-range meats, made in traditional clay ovens. Locals may call this the best place for pizza on the island with daily specials, meat and veggie options, and the classic “Mopsy”. Enjoy fresh produce in a delicious salad to share among the table with craft cocktails. To avoid a long wait, try going for a late lunch or early dinner to beat the dinner crowds. Flatbread Pizza Company is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

10. Paia Fish Market- Paia, North Shore; Kihei, South Side; Lahaina, West Side

11. Tommy Bahama- Wailea, South Side

A spacious lanai and warm island breezes make Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar at The Shops at Wailea ideal for lunch, dinner or Happy Hour. The culinary team will treat you to some of the freshest seafood and local produce from the islands. Tommy Bahama opens at 11:00 a.m. daily. Happy Hour is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
