Celebrating New Years Eve on Maui

Topics: ,
This year, New Years Eve is on a Monday. But that doesn't mean it will be any less of a celebration than usual on Maui. After you spend your day with us exploring Haleakala or ziplining through fragrant eucalyptus forests, your exciting vacation can continue on through the night with these fun celebrations around Maui. Almost everywhere around the world, the New Year is brought in with a bang with amazing fireworks displays. On Maui, local residents get in on the excitement too. Lots of people put on local fireworks displays around the island. So, you are likely to see fireworks even if you are not near a formal fireworks show.

The largest fireworks show is in Wailea. This show is only visible on Wailea resort properties. Unfortunately, these shows are not open to the public because there is not enough parking to accommodate the event to the general public. So unless you are staying at the resorts, you might have a hard time getting a good view of the show. A possible option is camping out on the beach near the resorts to try to catch a glimpse of the show.

If you are looking for a fun way to spend New Years Eve on the water, the Pacific Whale Foundation has a New Year’s Eve cocktail sail event and a cocktail cruise event. You can learn more about these fun events and purchase your tickets here. The Drums of the Pacific Luau New Years Eve evening show is another popular New Years Even activity on Maui. This show is already sold out online for New Years Eve. But, if you are looking for something fun to do on New Years Day or any other day during your Maui vacation, this event could be a great option! Start Planning Your Adventure Now
