Skyline Guide
“We had a great time with Jack(short for his real Hawaiian name) and Chris guiding us. They were awesome! Very patient and kind. The last two zips were first class. The rest were great and there was some good information about some of the local customs.”
“Perfectly arranged sequence of zip lines... from short and simple (to learn technique) to super long and picturesque! Guides Allen and Chris Lundy were delightful and highly attentive to safety.”
“Our guides were Jake and Chris La and they were super friendly, funny, and reassuring (I am a scaredy cat). They took the time to explain everything and answer all of our questions.”
“Serge and Gabe were the BEST tour hosts we ever could have hoped for! These guys made the day a hundred times better—super funny, silly guys, but also really really informative. What a wealth of knowledge! We got so much more than we bargained for. ”
  • Where do we check in?

Big Island Lava n' Zip tour guests will be picked up at their hotel or accommodation. The pick up location and time will be confirmed at time of booking with a Skyline Eco-Adventure reservation agent. If you have any questions regarding your pick up location or time, please contact us at 808-518-4189.

  • Are there any health issues I should consider?

Customers with serious neck, back, or joint injuries or chronic heart problems should use their own discretion about their capabilities to safely participate in this activity. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that anyone with who has had recent surgery, especially on ankles, knees or their back, not participate in this tour. Although we try to always make customers comfortable both physically and mentally, there is some degree of impact on joints or some degree of customer anxiety about zipping which is unavoidable.  The inherent risks of walking on unimproved hiking trails, joint impacts associated with zipline landings, and anxiety associated with participating in an adventure activity which involves flying through the air should be considered before going on a zipline tour.

  • How good of shape do I need to be in?

Ziplining isn't strenuous, but you need to be able to hike about 1/2 mile and climb steps. We have had people from age 10 to 100 do the course without problems.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

We have a generous cancellation policy. Cancel 24 hours or more before your tour and you will receive a 100% refund. Less than 24 hours, no refund.

  • Can I bring my camera/phone?

Yes, you may bring your camera/phone along to snap photos along the way. You can also rent a Go-Pro camera (you'll see this option when you check out).

  • What kind of shoes should I wear?

For your safety, we require that you wear shoes with a fully enclosed heel and toe. Tennis/athletic shoes or hiking type shoes are best. No hiking sandals, Teva Sandals, KEEN's, Crocs, TOMS, Vibram FiveFingers or Skechers Shape Ups are allowed on the course. Shoes must be snug to your foot.  No loose-fitting or un-laced Converse-style shoes are allowed.

  • What should I wear?

Shorts and a short-sleeve t-shirt are recommended (due to regularly hot weather here). SUNSCREEN is highly recommended. Wearing brightly colored clothes will make pictures look amazing!
